Grigor Dimitrov beat Australian Nick Krygios to win the Masters 1000 final at Cincinnati Open.
Dimitrov, Bulgarian, who won his first Masters 1000 title with the win, beat Krygios in straight sets of 6-4 7-5.
Krygios, who also attempted to win his first Masters 1000 title, became the youngest finalist at the Cincinnati Open since Novak Djokovic in 2009.
Dimitrov who is looking ahead of the US Open at Flushing Meadows which start on August 28 after this win said; “In the big picture, it means a lot to me”.
“I’m pretty confident after that. This is what I’ve been practising for”, he added.
“I’m going to enjoy it for a day or two but then it’s back to the routine and prepare for the US Open”, said the Bulgarian who went through the entire tournament without losing a set.
Elsewhere, Rafael Nadal from Spain and fifteen time Grand Slam Champion will overtake Andy Murray today at the top of the ATP rankings.
