The National Sports Authority (NSA) has indicated that they have printed 34,000 tickets for Friday’s World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Congo Brazzaville at Kumasi.
Ghana is scheduled to take on Congo at home on Friday in what will be a double header fixture with the return leg on Tuesday in Congo.
The NSA made this known through their Director Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah in an exclusive interview with Success 90.9 FM, Goaso.
He said; “Greetings to your panel and listeners. Yes we are looking ahead to the game and the team is at Baba Yara stadium to familiarise themselves with the turf”.
We have tightened security and have printed 34,000 tickets for the game which goes for GHc5, GHc15 and GHc30 for the various stands”, he added.
“Those in charge of maintaining the turf, the Green Grass Technology is preparing the pitch for the upcoming game and they are in shape”, the NSA boss indicated.
There was a report of no military personnel at the Baba Yara stadium when Kotoko played Hearts of Oak on August 6 and when asked if the security will be available for the game on Friday, the former Member of Parliament for Asunafo North said; “There was a little miscommunication between the military for the Kotoko vs Hearts game but have been amicably solved and they will be represented live on Friday”, he indicated.
The NSA will soon organise the National Sports Festival in Kumasi as plans by the government to unearth talents for the country and also to compete adequately at World Athletics and Olympics and when asked about how far the event has gone, the NSA Director said; “All regional teams will come to Kumasi on Thursday as we begin the National Sports Festival in less than a week time”.
“The government as part of his vision for the country is doing all what he can to ensure that the event becomes an annual affair and not just a nine day wonder”, he added.
