The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association has confirmed to the media that a late call up has been handed to Richmond Boakye Yiadom.
Richmond plays for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia and his club were dragging feet in releasing the striker but after some persuasions from the Executives of GFA, he has been given the permission to join the Stars in Kumasi.
Boakye Yiadom is set to replace Raphael Dwamena who missed the Black Stars camp due to medical test. He failed a medical examination to Brighton and Hove Albion and that has prompted his side FC Zurich to re-access the striker for further confirmation.
Richmond is due to arrive in Ghana today in order to join his compatriots to prepare for the crunch double header against Congo in KUmasi and Brazzaville respectively.
He is not new to the set up of the Black Stars as he has had previous stincts with the team and so would not have difficulty settling in the team.
Ghana plays the Leopards of Congo on 31st August and 5th September, 2017 respectively.
