GFA PRESIDENT, KWASI NYANTAKYI CONFIRMS GHANA IS READY FOR THE WAFU TOURNAMENT

Kwesi Nyantakyi, Ghana football Association President has given the green light that Ghana is ready to host and win this year’s WAFU tournament.

Mr Nyantakyi is also the current President of WAFU Zone B spoke to the media during the launching of the Tournament in Accra yesterday.

He explained that “most of the teams have arrived in Ghana and the first game will be between Ghana and Gambia at the newly constructed Cape Coast Stadium”.

The GFA Chief also explained thus” the Essipong Satdium was rejected because of security reason. The was a problem with roof and other sections which would be dangerous to house spectators and so we had to fall on Dr. Nduom to lend us his Stadium at Elmina”.

“We are most grateful to him for this kind gesture”. Mr. Nyantakyi said.

 

On Black Stars B Team for the Tournament

” I think that after failing to qualify for next years CHAN competition,they have done their homework well and I hope they win the ultimate”Nyantakyi told Starr Sports

 

Ghanas home based team disappointed Ghanaians after they were knocked out by Burkina Faso for a ticket at next year’s CHAN tournament.

 

Ghana is placed in Group A with The Gambia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Mali, Mauritania Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.

They will be based in Takoradi.
