SPORTS MINISTRY SUMMONS GHANA ATHLETICS ASSOCIATION ON GOVERNMENT’S $84,000

Sources close to ghanamansports can confirm that the Ministry of Youth and Sports have officially written to the Ghana Athletics Association headed by Professor Francis Douduo and his subordinates to come and explain to them how the $84,000 was disbursed or used at the IAAF championship knowing perfectly that the organizers funded for the Ticketing ,Accommodation and other expenses.

There was a report that the Ghana Athletics Association has not refunded or given any information about the said amount given by the Youth and Sports Ministry after the championship.

The Public Relations Officer for the GAA has also denied the report claiming that his outfit are yet to submit their report to the Ministry and so it was not prudent for the Deputy Minister to come out and condemn the GAA, ” We are due to present our report on the Championship to the Ministry and the time for this is latest by Friday, so with the financial report, it is not fair for the Deputy Minister to say there is financial malfeasance”. Erasmus explained.

Meanwhile, the ministry together with the National Sports Authority are diligently looking into Glasgow 2014 ,reports are that the organizers paid for ticketing but the GOC directed African Origin travel and tours to the ministry to take the money which have already been funded.

The Ghana Olympic committee has given Mr Erasmus Kwao a letter they cannot work with him anymore, according to a close source ,Mr Kwao has told the GOC that he will not to leave his post until his lawyer writes to the association. .
