The Chairman of Western Regional Football Association, Mr. Kodjo Yanka has called for crucifixion of those who say Ghana Football is collapsed.
Mr. Yanka, a member of the management committee of the Black Stars ‘B’ was interviewed by Mr. Richard Smith Donkor, host of Boss FM Sports 3.
Asked whether he accepts the fact that Ghana football has retrogressed to the minimum as some people term, he said “I have been in football for over 30 years and still doing it, if there is nothing good in it, I would have quit long time ago”.
” If Ghana football is dead, other people would not have been calling me to come and register their teams to play in the other divisions, If we cannot play in Africa its because Football people are coming money, one would not expect to perform so well in African club competitions when he sells about 20 to 30 of his best players to the foreign leagues every season”. he continued.
Mr. Yankah went on to say that, “any football person who claims our football is dead, should be crucified because that person is a hypocrite”.
He explained that “I am a professional quantity surveyor and also into construction works, yet my love for football is so great that I manage a club alongside”.
Mr. Yankah also affirmed his support for the current President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi to continue on the seat after his current term expires in 2019.
” The members of Western Region RFA are asking me to continue too when my time ends because I have done so many good things for them”.
I run the RFA in a professional manner just like it is done at the GFA, I have given every team in the lower division a ball each, I have also bought trophy for the second division league and others”, Yanka concluded.
