Abdul Salam Yakubu, Chief Executive Officer of New Edubiase FC has called for massive changes in the Ghana Football Association.
Salam Yakubu who is known in football circles as ‘Sabato’ spoke on Happy FM on Tuesday.
He expressed the worrying nature of running football in the Ghana and thus called for new faces to come on board and change things.
“We have so many old faces at the GFA who are not helping the game to grow, we need young and fresh ones to come on board so that things can be altered for the better”. He said.
There are people who are young and can give us great initiatives but here are these old ones who are not giving any new ideas yet refusing to leave the scene”. Yakubu explained.
” I have already told Mr. Nyantakyi the GFA President that he should get rid of these old guards, they cannot even work in the various committees to help the FA, and a typical example is the Marketing and Sponsorship Committee, what are they doing to help us ? nothing and absolutely nothing yet we sit back and watch them just like that, there should be changes”. Yakubu continued.
“Therefore we need those young and energetic ones who can bring their expertise on board to see our football moving up the hill than we are witnessing, it’s a pathetic story for us in football”. Yakubu concluded
Sabato is currently a member of the Black Starlets Committee supervising the performance of the young lads ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be played in India.
He also has his side, New Edubiase still planted in Division One after failing to make a return to the elite league of Ghana.
