Bafana Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter has unveiled his squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.
After ignoring Turkey based Tokelo Rantie, the National team coach explained gave his reason for leaving out the attacker.
The former Orlando Pirates forward started both of the country’s defeats to Cape Verde in September – finding the back of the net in Praia – but has received the chop due to a lack of game time at Gençlerbirliği,
“Tokelo got a red card (in Turkey) and a three match suspension. He has been very inactive, and he has been playing wide as a midfielder for his club,” said Baxter.
“I thought that inactivity reflected a bit in the second game against Cape Verde [in Durban] … he needs more game time.”
Dino Ndlovu makes a return following his impressive run of form for Qarabağ, with Phakamani Mahlambi and Lebo Mothiba also roped in, as South Africa aim to bounce back to winning ways.
