Black Stars head coach, James Kwasi Appiah, has explained that Ghanaians would need to give the Black Star’s ‘B’ massive support in order for them to win the 2017 WAFU Cup.
The Black Stars will play against the Super Green Eagles of Nigeria in the finals of the tournament on Sunday at 6:00 pm at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Speaking to the media, the Coach of the senior National team, Kwasi Appiah has spoken about the team and the need to support them to win.
”I had believed the team was good and all that they needed was motivation.” Appiah said.
”As usual of Ghana, we don’t start tournaments on a good note but we end well, so what’s needed now is our support and prayers so they can win on Sunday.”
A lot of Ghanaians lost hope in the team prior to the 2017 WAFU Tournament. But they defied all odds to make it to Sunday’s final after topping Group A and beating Niger 2-0 in the semi-finals.
The Ghanaian side lost to the Nigerian side 2-0 in the final group match when the two sides met. Two second half goals were enough to see the Nigerians through to the semi finals where they would go on to beat Benin 1-0.
The Black Stars B failed to make it to the CHAN Tournament after they got eliminated by Burkina Faso.
