The Captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Amos Frimpong has expressed his desire to play for the Black Stars A if given the chance.
Amos played as right back when the Black Stars B team won the just ended WAFU Cup hosted by Ghana.
His perfomance increased as the tournament went by and has been praised for his current form that gave the team a good balance to clinch the title.
The Kotoko captain spoke to the media on Tuesday when the team paid a courtesy call on the President of Ghana to present to him the trophy won against Nigeria on Sunday.
“It’s each players biggest dream to wear the colours of the senior national team, so if God willing I get the chance to join the group, I will do my best to learn from the seniors and help with what I possess in achieving our targets.”
Amos was full of praise for his coach, Maxwell Konadu (Capello) as he credited the technical man for the win over the Super Green Eagles ‘B’ of Nigeria, “The coach said a lot about the Nigerian team” he said
“Naturally the Nigerians are very strong and physical and as such, he told us to do a lot of movement on the pitch and I must say what Capello thought us was the secret to our victory.”
Ghana beat Nigeria 4-1 with two penalties scored by Vicent Atinga and Stephen Sarfo who scored a brace on the night. Midfielder Windful Cobbinah scored the fourth goal for Ghana
