Ghana’s undefeated heavyweight boxer, Brimah ‘Bukom Banku’ Kamoko states that he is angry with his challenger Bastie Samir and has vowed to punish him for the disrespect he (Bastie) has shown towards him.
The undefeated duo, after war of words, will finally lock horns in the ring on Saturday October 21, at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, for the bragging rights and also who the real ‘local champion’ is. Both pugilists have been involved in series of public banter since putting pen to paper in agreement for this non-title cruiser-weight bout.
Bukom Banku, who claims he is the African Mayweather, feels Bastie has disrespected him on many occasions and that has compelled him to train hard to knock out Bastie.
He made the vow in an interview with the GNA Sports after his public workout on Tuesday. z “I have prepared myself and am training very hard. I have been ready for him since long. Why doesn’t he want to respect me, I am the Africa Mayweather. Bastie is a small boxer and I don’t understand why he wants to challenge me,” Banku said angrily.
He said he hated Bastie over comments suggesting he is a “nobody”, adding that, he will make it an easy win to prove that no one can challenge him in Ghana.
“I don’t like that guy, he talks too much and that is why I want to knock him out. I know Bastie is an experienced boxer. He has fought outside Ghana but I am the boxing king in Ghana and I have the best coach. Ghanaians are saying he is the man to beat me and that angers me. I want to tell Ghanaians that this will be the easiest fight ever for me.”
The former WBO Africa cruiserweight title holder, Bukom Banku has an impressive undefeated record of 29 wins with 22 knockouts, whilst Bastie, a 2008 Olympian and former captain of Ghana Amateur Boxing team has to his record 16 fights with 15 knockouts and a draw.
Box Office Promotion is promoting this fight, which starts at 19:00 hours GMT.
