Dr.Papa Kwesi Nduom, owner of Elmina Sharks FC has threatened to go to the law court to seek redress against Mr. Wilfred Osei Palmer, owner of Tema Youth FC.
The PPP flag bearer emphasised the need to rewrite the reputation of the Ghana’s local game.
Papa Kwesi wrote on his Facebook wall in reaction to claims by Mr. Palmer that 7 of his Tema Youth players were bribed by Elmina Sharks.
Mr. Palmer emphasised that the performance of these players were not as deserved and so the investigations done by management confirmed their fears.
Dr. Nduom reacted as follows:
Enough of this!
I have just read transcripts of an interview granted by Mr. Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer of Tema Youth FC to a radio station in Accra. All he said just confirms my point that there is rot in the Ghana Premier League that is destroying its attractiveness and viability. But he steps too far to accuse me of bribing his players. Me?
This what is attributed to him:
“Their performances in that game raised more questions than answers and we called some of them and put the issue before them, so when I heard my former boss, Dr Ndoum pointing fingers at people in regards to machinations it makes me laugh.”
“People are not straight forward when it comes to relegation matters. They will do everything to make sure they get the need results. My investigations showed clearly that he doesn’t have the locus to accuse people because he who seeks equity must come with clean hands but in this instance your hands are filthy.”
So I am asking my lawyers to take him to court to prove this allegation. And while they are doing this, they will rope in all the others who have come to the media with similar accusations.
I have been through 2nd Division, 1st Division and now Premier. Some think that I am new to this. They are wrong. They have bitten more than they can chew.
Time for discipline in the GPL!
