BLACK STARS BEAT GLOW LAMP ACADEMY 5-1 IN A FRIENDLY

The Black Stars of Ghana beat second division side Glow Lamp Academy 5-1 in a friendly played at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

The friendly was planned by the technical handlers of the National Team led by Coach James Kwasi Appiah ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Egypt.

The Stars will face Egypt at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday at 3:30 pm Ghana time and this was done in order to build team work and cohesion for the Ghanaians.

Injured Captain Asamoah Gyan and Newcastle winger Christian Atsu were not present due to their various degrees of injuries.

The scorers in the friendly match were Richmond Boakye, Nicholas Opoku, Mubarak Wakaso, Lumor Agbenyenu and Raphael Dwamena.

Ghana opened the scoreline through Richmond which was equalized by Glow Lamp Academy through Henry Eklu.Nicholas Opoku added a second one to make it 2-1 for the Black Stars.

The second half became baptism of fire for Glow Lamp when they had to pick three more balls from their net.

The changes made in the Stars set-up in the second half opened up the game as Wakaso scored from the spot and then Lumor Agbenyenu as well as Dwamena added two more.

Glow Lamp Academy is in Cape Coast and belongs to former national star Odartey Lamptey.

Team for First Half: Ati Zigi; Opare, Abass, Attamah, Nicholas; Donsah, Nasiru, Warris, Edwin Gyasi; Boakye Yiadom and Nana Ampomah

 

Team for Second Half : Richard Ofori; Opare, Lumor, Amartey, Kassim; Wakaso, Twumasi, Ebenezer Ofori,Donsah; Dwamena and Ampomaa.
