UEFA RELEASE LIST OF FIFTY PLAYERS FOR TEAM OF THE YEAR

UEFA has announced a list of footballers to compete for positions in the UEFA best eleven for 2017.

Leading the goal keepers list is good old Gianluigi Buffon who despite his heroic exhibitions for his Juventus side lost the UEFA Champions league final to Real Madrid.

The list also includes the usual duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona respectively.

The current European Champions, Madrid tops the list of players from the various clubs with ten players. Losing finalist of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League, Juventus came second with seven players ( though two have left the club).Barcelona got four as well as Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspurs.

The 50-man shortlist is selected by UEFA’s journalists for the best performers in European club competition, domestic competitions and international tournaments, and now UEFA.com users can vote for their favourite team online.
