Lawyer Yaw Boafo, the Head of Legal affairs for Kumasi Asante Kotoko to exercise some restraint with respect to comments about the team.
The Management of the Porcupine Warriors held a press briefing in Kumasi on Tuesday ahead of the CAF Conferederations Cup campaign.
Lawyer Boafo and his team have come under intense media bash after the team crushed out of the GHALCA G8 tournament and then lost to Aduana in the Super Cup.
“Everybody has his favourite and preference but we expect everyone to be professional. I don’t expect everybody to like Dr. Kwame Kyei but currently we are in charge of Kotoko and so have to work together and it is the most important”. Lawyer Boafo bemoaned.
” We are going to Africa, so let the focus be on the club and “If Kotoko qualifies from here (knockout), it will even help you the media, so why don’t you help us? Lawyer Boafo said.
He continued by explaining thus, ” We all have to look at the bigger picture which is Kotoko and now we have to concentrate on getting the team forward so that we can qualify and enter the money zone of the CAF Confederations Cup so that we can break even. Now there is a serious financial outbreak in the team as Dr. Kwame Kyei runs the club from his own coffers”.
“But if we are able to get to the money zone, things will get better for Kotoko, at least if we get a draw or loose one game somewhere we can still move ahead as we would be playing six matches.”
He then asked the media to join hands with the club as partners for a successful campaign for the reds.
