TRIBUTES POUR IN FOR LATE ALHAJI HEARTS WHO PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT

There are several tributes pouring in for the departed soul of Former board member of Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak,Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim a.k.a Alhaji Hearts.

The sad incident occurred at his residence in Accra on Wednesday night. His death occurred at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Wednesday where he was on admission for some time.

According to Islamic traditions, he was buried on Thursday afternoon at the East Legon Cemetery.

 

Tribute from Accra Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak have paid glowing tribute to their former board member Suleiman Alhaji Hearts who died on Wednesday.

Hearts of Oak’s Twitter account wrote: ”Every soul shall taste death but we are extremely sullen to learn of the passing of Alhaji Hearts – from ball boy to Board member of this great club. We extend our condolences to his family. #RIPAlhaji #AHOSC.”

Alhaji Hearts is fondly remembered for his role in the club’s 2000 CAF Champions League triumph and the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup.

 

Tribute from Mr. Herbert Mensah

Former Chief Executive Manager of Kumasi Asnate Kotoko, Mr. Herbert Mensah has given his heartfelt tribute to the late board member of Accra Hearts of Oak.

Mr. Mensah was a close friend of Alhaji Hearts and has expressed his grief over the passing of a good friend.

“He was unique, he was one of the few Ghanaians, and is still one of the few Ghanaians, who understands you can disagree, you can have a different opinion, a different strategy and yet you can still be friends, and that is result, even though he was a Phobian and I was with kotoko, he reached out,”, he remembered.

“I would be truly sad and I think Ghana has lost a true hero,” he said soberly.

Herbert Mensah who is the President and Board Chairman of Ghana Rugby Union also recalled how Alhaji Hearts supported his 17 years campaign to raise awareness after the May 7 stadium disaster.
