2018 INTER SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES ATHLETICS TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN KUMASI

Baba Yara Stadium will be the centre of attraction for all sports lovers in the Ashanti Region once again as the Ashanti 2018 Inter Schools and Colleges Athletics (InterCo) starts.

Zone five will kick off this year’s inter-schools and colleges athletics competition on the 7th and 8th of February 2018 as the annual competition bounces back.

It will be a feast of athletics events as twenty four schools compete for positions in order to qualify to the super zonals of the competition.

The competition which normally starts on a Thursday and Friday for the first two days has seen some alternations as a result of the upcoming CAF Confederations Cup between Kumasi Asnate Kotoko and CARA FC of Congo.

Schools that are appearing on Wednesday and Thursday include Prempeh College, Kumasi High School, Yaa Asantewaa Girls, Anglican SHS, Armed Forces SHTS, Juaben SHS, Tweneboah Kodua SHS, Ejisumam SHS, Nkawie SHTS, Asanteman SHS, Owerriman SHS, Mabang SHS, among others.
Balloting for lanes was done last week for the schools who are eager to secure qualification to the Super zonals of the competition slated for the last week of February.

This zone is arguably the toughest zone with many of the very competitive schools drawn in that zone.
Prempeh, KASS, KUHIS, YAGSS, Armed Forces, Asanteman and other very competitive schools will all be seeking to book a ticket to the super zonals of the competition.

Below is the full list of schools who will be competing on Wednesday and Thursday the 7th and 8th of February, 2018.
Their respective heats, lanes and turns are also published below.
