Ghana’s League Champions Aduana Stars were beaten by a lone goal in their CAF Champions League opening game Libyan side Al Tahaddy SC on Sunday.
CAF gave the Bengazi based side the go ahead to play this match in Egypt due to security concerns in Libya.
A first half strike from Mahmoud Ali was enough to give the Libyan giants the advantage ahead of the reverse fixture in Ghana.
Aduana Stars tried to race back into the match but could not get the needed connection to draw level.
The Ogya Club conceded in the first minute and despite a spirited display they fell short of grabbing an equalizer.
Tahaddy, on the other hand, were guilty of missing a host of chances which would have seen them win by a handsome margin ahead of the second leg.
With the scoreline, Aduana will fancy their chances of overturning the deficit and progressing to the next stage.
The return leg comes on the 19th February in Dormaa.
