Former Champions of the CAF Champions League, Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak have out-doored Mr. Mark Noonan as the new Managing Director of the club.
Noonan previously worked as the Marketing Executive of Major League Soccer for 4 years and was in charge of the overall strategic marketing and branding of the MLS.
He also served as as Global Chief Commercial Officer for the World Surf League helping the league with a partnership with TAG Heuer, Jeep, Visa, Airbnb including other top level organisations.
Noonan’s inventiveness has led to a bumper beacon of $20 million sponsorship deal from Citigroup for the Major Soccer League side, Metz.
He was officially introduced to the playing body and the management of the club during the morning training session Wednesday.
The American is the first expatriate to work for the Phobians as an MD in the Professional football area .
Noonan will begin work on March 1 2018.
In his maiden address to the playing body he promised to beat the Arch Rivals of Hearts; Kumasi Asante Kotoko, “I promise that we shall beat Kotoko always as I am the new MD”, Noonan said.
“I have one goal and that is to make this place better when I leave than I came and I will work tirelessly with your support to make it happen.”
“There is going to be some changes and change is not easy as we have not won anything in nine years”.
“We are going to culture of excellence and no excuses; no referee excuses and no injury excuses. We are going to win because we will have no culture of excuses but excellence.”
“Nothing is more important than what happens on the field and the chairman said, our goal is to give you every tool you need to be successful. So there are no excuses. We are going to make sure we get the best things in this country in playing games to lift trophies”, Noonan disclosed.
