ADUANA STARS EXPRESS OPTIMISM TO BEAT FOSA JUNIORS AHEAD OF THEIR CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP KNOCKOUT FIRST LEG

Having been paired with Fosa Juniors of Madagascar, Ghana’s Aduana Stars are booming with confidence ahead of their 2nd 1/16th round first leg against their South African opponents on Sunday in Dormaa.

Aduana thrashed Inter Allies 6-0 at home last Sunday in the Ghana Premier League, in a game that saw evergreen Yahaya Mohammed bagging a hat-trick.

“Sunday’s win was just a teaser for what we have in store for our CAF Confederation Cup match. The expectation from the fans is high and we cannot disappoint them again. We need to prepare well for both legs, starting from Sunday’s home game,” Aduana coach Abubakar Yussif said.

The Ghanaians claim little knowledge of their opponents who arrived in Ghana on Wednesday, notwithstanding, they remain focused.

“We need to kill off the game here on Sunday before the second leg,” added striker Bright Adjei.

“The game against Setif has taught us many lessons and one of them is to get a good win at home and be ready for the next game.”

High flying striker, Mohammed, is staying grounded despite his man of the match performance last Sunday and has described the game against Fosa Juniors a “a total different game”.

“There is a difference between the two competitions and we don’t have to be complacent. We need to give the home fans something better to cheer about on Sunday, just like we did in the league. All we ask for is their love and support. We want to make it into the group stage and that is the only thing that will appease them so we look forward to it,” said Mohamed who had spells in France in Tanzania.

The second leg will take place in a fortnight in Madagascar.
