FC BARCELONA SET A NEW RECORD OF 40 GAMES WITHOUT A LOSS IN THE SPANISH LA LIGA

FC Barcelona have taken the Spanish La Liga to another height after going 40 matches without a defeat.

Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw at Balaidos against Celta Vigo ensured  the Blaugrana el Vent set another positive record the current best league in the World.

Another milestone was set when French youngster, Osumane Dembele scored a beautiful volley to open his La Liga goals account. Dembele had previously gotten his first goal for Barcelona against English side Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League.

Paco Alcacer got the second goal for Valverde’s side after Paulinho had almost finished the whole job.

Celta cancelled Barcelona’s lead just before the first half break with Iago Aspas getting the second equalizer by the aid of his hand.

Barcelona equaled Real Sociedad’s Liga record of 38 unbeaten matches against Leganes before setting a new one of 39 matches against Valencia over the weekend when they beat the Bats 2-1 at the Camp Nou.

They will next face Deportivo La Coruna to see if they can extend their record to 41 matches without a defeat.

UEFA Champions League

Ernesto Valverde got a real backlash from the fans of the club after he watched his side loose a 4-1 first leg advantage to Italy’s AS Roma . Barcelona lost 3-0 in Rome in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals to exit at the amazement of all football followers.

The Catalans had not lost a match in the Competition prior to their Roma game and unfortunately, their first loose would be dangerous enough to get them eliminated from the prestigious competition.

The Catalans have only lost one match in the tournament and that would be their first loss of the season. Star man Lionel Messi missed a penalty to put his side ahead prior to Espanyol killing the game with a goal in the dying moments of the game.

They now face Sevilaa in the final of the Copa Del Rey at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid on Saturday 21st April, 2018.
