Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have both recorded mixed results ahead of their week 10 clash in the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak left it late to secure a 1-1 draw against Bechem United on match day 9 of the 2018 Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Phobians went into the game from back-to-back defeats against Elmina Sharks and Karela United.
Bechem United unsettled the Phobians as they scored the first goal on the 6th minute through Hafiz Konkoni after a calamitous goalkeeping from Jackson Theophilus.
Karela United’s three-game winning run has ended with a 0-0 stalemate against Elmina Sharks at the Crosby Awuah Memorial park.
The newly promoted were hoping to make it four straight wins. They were by far the better side, dominating and creating opportunities but weren’t as clinical as they were last Wednesday when they put three past Hearts of Oak.
WAFA SC pulled a shock result to beat Ebusua Dwarfs 3-2 on the road at the Cape Coast Stadium to end a five-match winless run.
The Academy Boys had to be at the clinical best to scale over the hurdle.
The opener came in the 36th minute through an opportunistic effort from Richard Danso.
Asante Kotoko secured a 2-0 win over Wa All Stars at Malik Jabir park to end their two-match winless run in the Ghana Premier League and lift themselves to the top four.
A goal in each half courtesy Obed Owusu and Frederick Boateng was all the Kumasi-based side needed to end a difficult few weeks which saw them go two matches without maximum points.
AshantiGold SC kept their 100% home record intact to stretch the lead at the top of the league table to three points when they beat Inter Allies FC 1-0 at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday.
Ashanti Gold SC went ahead when Roland Amuzu connected a pass from the Ivorian midfielder to slot home.
