The Black Satellites of Ghana have safely arrived in the Algerian capital of Algiers for the first leg of the Africa Youth Championship qualifier against the North African state.
Coach Jimmy Cobblah and his team arrived at the Algerian National airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The Black Satellites are expected to train on Thursday at the match venue before taking on their counterparts at the Stade du Julliet on Friday.
A good result will give the Black Satellites an advantage ahead of the return encounter in Ghana.
Ghana is hoping to make it to next year’s competition having missed out in the last edition.
Meanwhile Coach Jimmy Cobblah has named four foreign-based players in his team for the game against Algeria.
Saliw Babawo of Belerusian side Dynamo Brest, KAS Eupen’s Nureeden Abdul Manaf, Abdul Halik Hudu of Swedish Club Hammarby IF and Red Star Belgrade youngster Ibrahim Tanko were all named in the 18-man squad that traveled to Algeria.
Before leaving the shores of Ghana, coach Cobblah expressed great optimism and confidence of obtaining a very great results.
