Media speculations coming from the camp of Kumasi Asante Kotoko indicates seven players, including striker Saddick Adams have been shown the exit from the club.
Assistant captain Eric Donkor, Seth Opare, Yakubu Mohammed, Edwin Tuffour Frimpong, Baba Mahama and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi have all been released from the red club.
It is reported that head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin wants to free up space in his team to make way for new signing this second transfer window. The former National U-17 coach is also reported to have advised the management of the club to start signing younger players who can help build a strong foundation for the future.
Kotoko have been inconsistent this season with five defeats, two draws and five wins.
The Porcupine Warriors crashed out of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup a the preliminary stages to CARA Cub of Congo and have suffered defeats to Hearts of Oak and Karela United in this season’s Ghana Premier League campaign.
With the second transfer window opened, Kotoko are hopeful they can sign a few decent players who will help them compete for the league title this year.
There have also been several reports of unprofessional attitude by some of the players such as Saddick Adams and Baba Mahama compelling the authorities of the club to put them on transfer.
