SAMPOLI RELEASES ARGENTINA’S 35 MAN SQUAD LED BY LEO MESSI

Argentina Coach Jorge Sampoli has released the list of 35 players who will help defend the colours of the Albiceleste during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Argentines have most of the players who were part of coach Alejandro Sabella’s squad during the last World Cup held in Brazil four years ago.

Argentina lost by a lone goal at extra time to Germany in the World Cup 2014 after which they would go on and loose on two straight finals in the Copa America in 2015 and 2016 to Chile.

The current squad which would be led by current best footballer in the World Lionel Messi has an intense pressure to win the World Cup. There is Inter Milan’s Mauro ICARDI and Juventus striker Paolo Dybala who ere rumoured to be dropped from the squad.

The preliminary list of 35 players has been announced and there aren’t many surprises. Sampoli would have to cut down the squad to 23 in two weeks time before they start their onslaught in Russia. Lautaro MARTINEZ  who plays for Racing Club, is the youngest player in the squad with 20 years old as his age whereas Chelsea’s Wilfredo CABALLERO  is the oldest with Chelsea, 36 years old.

The AFA have released the list of 35 with Mauro ICARDI, Ricardo CENTURION and German PEZZELLA all in. Here’s the list.
