Antonio Conte has been sacked as manager of London based club Chelsea FC after officials of the club made the announcement of Friday, 13th July, 2018.
There had been rumours which pointed to the sack of Conte even before the end of the 2017/18 league season which saw the Blues placing 5th.
This was confirmed on the Club’s official twitter account on Friday.

Conte’s problems began when he decided not to work with former striker Diego Costa. This decision caused instability in his team and affected Chelsea so much that they could not defend the league trophy they won in 2016/17 during Conte’s first season at the club.
Though Conte had started the pre-season with Chelsea, it was brought to a halt when the management of the club announced his departure.
The Italian National team manager won the 2017/18 FA Cup with Chelsea but that was not enough to save his job as he had lost favour with his employers.
His fellow Italian, Maurizio Sarri is due to take over from Conte. Sarri also left his job at Napoli. Carlo Ancelotti who served as Chelsea’s manager between 2009 and 2011 is now the coach of Napoli.
