Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been invited to Tanzania for internationally friendly against Simba Sporting Club.
Kotoko are expected to leave the country with a 28-man contingent for Tanzania next week Tuesday for the game next Wednesday. The friendly encounter forms part of Simba’s anniversary celebrations.
The club’s Communications Officer, Mr. Obed Acheampong confirmed this during an interview on Boss FM in Kumasi. He explained that the club accepted the invitation which has come as saviour for players who need such competition to regain match fitness as result of the recent happenings to Ghana football.
“We received a letter from Simba SC in relation to one of their anniversaries. They call it the Simba day, and it happens once every year where they use friendly games to unveil new players for the new season.
“So they wrote a letter to Kotoko requesting a friendly game, and we looked at all the necessary details and agreed.
“We are currently not playing football in the country, so we are taking advantage of that to give our boy some international exposure. So as it stands, we will play the game next Wednesday,” he said.
