The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has banned the former President of Ghana Football association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.
The former GFA boss was handed the ban because of bribery and corruption charges leveled against him through a video which saw him taking a sum of $65, 000. On 8 June 2018, the chairperson of the adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee provisionally banned the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, for a duration of 90 days. The ban was extended with an extra 45 days before been giving the lifetime one now.
The investigation against Mr. Nyantakyi was opened in June 2018 based on the video released by the Tiger Eye Group, dubbed Ghana Football Expose.
Mr. Nyantakyi was also fined 500,000 Swiss francs (£390,000).
Nyantakyi was also vice-president of the Confederation of African Football and a member of the FIFA Council.
