Football Leaks has made some shocking revelations that could see FIFA President Mr. Gianni Infantino in fresh trouble. The European Investigative Collaboration Institution confirms that through the assistance of Platini and Infantino, then president and secretary general, respectively, systematically helped PSG and Manchester City to avoid sanctions for committing financial doping and breaches of financial fair play.
The publication assures that “the two clubs are shamelessly controlled by authoritarian governments of the Persian Gulf states”, a statement that they argue based on the information contained in “several thousand pages” in their possession. From them they assure the following:
Manchester City and PSG have systematically broken the rules of UEFA’s financial fair play for years.
Infantino, as general secretary of UEFA, protected Manchester City and PSG.
UEFA did not sanction or exclude the two clubs in the Champions League, as they had done with other clubs.
Infantino met secretly with the top leaders of PSG (Nasser Al Khelaifi and his right arm, Jean-Claude Blanc) and Manchester City. Thus, the Parisian club agreed to receive 100 million a year for its agreements with Qatar, a figure significantly higher than the market value determined by the UEFA auditors. In return, he promised to pay a fine and reduce his annual spending. The entity of Manchester, for its part, was visited on May 8, 2014 in London by Infantino, who met with Ferran Soriano, executive director.
The owners of the PSG injected 1.8 million euros in the PSG , avoiding the FPF, being covered by Platini and Infantino, which allowed that they were not sanctioned without European competitions.
A UEFA delegation informed PSG in May 2018 that the investigation into their accounts would be closed without further action “for political reasons”.
This new revelation, as announced by media such as Der Spiegel in Germany or Mediapart in France, will have new deliveries in the coming weeks. The information also talks about retroactive sponsorship contracts, reports from ignored experts, short-circuited control bodies, circumstances that exacerbate the tensions that exist between 2012 and UEFA between PSG and financial fair play.
