Ahead of the Africa Women’s Nations Cup, Ghana’s Black Queens have been hit with injury which might be a big blow to the hosts as star striker Sandra Owusu Ansah is due to miss out.
Sandra was expected to join the team in camp but picked up an injury while playing for her club side Zouk Mosbeh Girls FC in the final match of the Lebanese League.
Therefore, Head Coach Bashir Hayford has been forced to make changes in his final squad for the tournament. Coach Hayford is due to officially present his list of 21 players to play in the upcoming biennial tournament.
The Queens went on a week tour of South and East Africa where they played two friendly games with Kenya and Zambia.
They are currently lodging at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel after playing on returning to Ghana after the tour.
Ghana is hosting the rest of Africa in the biennial Women’s tournament. Cape Coast and Accra will be the two Cities to host the Nations Cup.
