Ghana’s Black Queens were bundled out of the ongoing 2018 Women’s African Cup of Nations on Friday. The Ghanaian ladies failed to beat their colleagues from Cameroon in their last group A match.
The match was played at the Accra Sports Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw with Ghana having 4 points. Mali beat Algeria 3-2 in Cape Coast in the other match played in Cape Coast to advance.
On the half hour mark, Portia Boakye scored for Ghana.
Cameroon equalised shortly before half-time when Aboudi Onguene was fouled running down the left wing for a blatant penalty.
The Queens started the tournament in a promising style after they beat Algeria 1-0 in the opening game of the tournament. They surprisingly lost 1-2 to Mali in their second game which complicated their chances to qualify for the semi finals.
Cameroon and Mali thus advance into the semi- final, therefore they also qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be played in France in June 2019.
