Opoku Ware School and Prempeh College qualify for quarter finals of 2018/19 Spriteball

The 2019 Spriteball Championship began in Accra on Friday at the El Wak Sports Stadium.

The basketball tournament for second cycle schools and colleges brings together champions and runners up from the various regions. This comprises boys and girls division respectively.

In the boys section, Pempeh College managed to qualify for the quarter finals after loosing their first game to Pope Johns (39-31). Amanfor lads managed to top the group after coming back to win their second game.

They best West Africa SHS 35-28 to top the group. West Africa then came on top of Pope Johns (33-21).

Ashanti Champions, Opoku Ware School also topped their group as usual after brushing aside Adisadel College from Cape Coast 44-36. The Owareans then went ahead to discipline Koforidua Sec. Tech. 42- 16 in the second game.

 

ADISCO beat Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) 36-18 in Adisadel’s second game in Group B of this year’s Championship.

Mfantsipim also beat St Johns 39-19 in their second game after they had topped Keta Business College 59-14 in the opening game. Mfantsipim has four titles.

Moreover, Sekondi College topped group A after beating Bishop Herman College 34-9 and Osu Presec also beat Herman 33-9.
