Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Karela United have qualified for the finals of the NC Special Cup Tier One.
The two sides are billed to clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday 23rd June, 2019.
Kotoko beat 5-4 arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on penalties at the Accra Sports Stadium after the 90 minutes ended 1-1.
Abdul Fatawu got the opener for Kotoko after just five minutes of play but Hearts of Oak got a last minute equalizer from penalty spot through Christopher Bonney.
Kotoko had the first half in their favour whereas the Phobians came back strongly to search for the equalizer in the second half.
Just before the end of the whole game, Kotoko’s defenders failed to deal with a lose ball which hit the hand of Ganyui.
Referee Vormowo then awarded the penalty to give Hearts a life line through Christopher Bonney.
Karela shock Ashgold
Karela also pipped Obuasi Ashgold 1-0 at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
Diawusie Taylor got his 8th goal for Karela in seven games which proved to be most important goal for the Anyenase based club.
Speaking to the media after the game, Taylor lauded his teammates for putting up a great fight against a difficult Ashanti Gold side in Obuasi.
