The match anticipated President’s Cup between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak has been postponed as a result of heavy rains in Kumasi.
The must watch game was to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi today.
The game was called off by the officiating officials after just five minutes because of soaky nature of the playing turf.
The match officials realized that the ball was unable to bounce as expected and that affected the flow of the game at the early stages.
The referee then halted the game for some time because the rain was still drizzling but had to call it off after it was clearly evident that both sides could not pass the ball around with easy.
They then consulted the Match Commissioner as well as organisers who then met briefly with the management of both sides to reach a consensus of postponement.
Prior to the start of the game, there was heavy rains which began with just an hour to kick off.
The organisers, GHALCA would announce the new date for the game later.
Kotoko would be playing Etoile du Sahel in the final eliminator of the CAF Champions League next Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
