South America’s football authorities have announced the rescheduling of the 2020 Copa America to 2021.
The decision was taken as a result of the world epidemic, CONVID-19.
This was confirmed by the CONMEBOL authorities on Tuesday after a crunch meeting.
Argentina and Columbia were co-host the fiercely competed tournament but would have to wait for a year. The competition is now confirmed to take place from June 11 to July 11, 2021.
The European Cup which was also planned to kickoff in June has been pushed back for same reasons.
The entire world is battling the pandemic which has killed thousands of people.
Brazil won the 2019 edition when they played as hosts after beating Peru in the final.
