Kwame Dwomoh- Agyemang, Communications Director of Legon Cities FC has debunked media reports that the management have sacked 20 players.
Reports came up on Monday that the Accra based club have decided to clear 20 current players in order to pave way for new and fresh players to come in as the transfer window opens.
The clubs Communications Director declined the story in an interview with FMIG on Tuesday morning.
Kwame affirms that it is the plan of management to strengthen the squad during the transfer window but not sacking of 20 players as earlier reported.
“There is no truth in that, obviously we are looking at getting in a few players to augment our squad before the football season resumes”.
“We can only register 30 players at a time, so what’s likely to happen is that when the new players come in, certain players might have to move or go on loan”.
“But I can categorically tell you that we are not letting 20 players go anywhere” the Communications Director concluded.
The Ghana Premier League has been suspended indefinitely as a result of the current Covid-19 pandemic.
