AFCON 2017: Quarter Final set

The 2017 African Cup of Nations have reached its quarter final stage after 24 games played across four groups.

The quarter final berths are set and now the stage is set for the last 8 ties scheduled to start on Saturday.

After Gabon and defending champions, Cote D’Ivoire failed to secure a quarter final place, four time Champions, Cameroon qualified alongside Burkina Faso from Group A with Senegal and Tunisia picking the two slots from Group B.

DR Congo shown the world that they meant business by picking one of the two slots in Group C with Morocco managed by 2015 AFCON winner, Herve Rehnard picking the other. Ghana and Egypt completed the final 8 after the last round of games.

The quarter final begins with Burkina Faso taking on the Cartilage Eagles of Tunisia at Libreville at 16:00GMT before the Teranga Lions of Senegal play Cameroon 3 hours later (19:00GMT) at Franceville. Both matches are touted to be intriguing and very exciting to watch.

The last two games in the quarter finals will see the Black Stars of Ghana lock horns with DR Congo at Oyem on Sunday starting 16:00GMT before the final 8 will be completed with a North African affair as the Pharoahs of Egypt take on Morocco at 19:00GMT.

The 2017 AFCON is getting exciting and we are looking to the big games in the quarters.
