Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has reiterated that he tried signing N’Golo Kante and has revealed his admiration for the French.
The Arsenal manger who is serving a four match suspension for his confrontation with fourth referee, Anthony Taylor during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Burnley revealed at his pre match presser before Arsenal travel to face Chelsea in the early game of matchweek 24 that he tried to sign the Chelsea man twice.
The former Caen and Leicester City man has been a key figure to Chelsea lead at the top and is on course to win back-to-back Premier League titles after helping Leicester City win the title last season. The 25 year old has made more tackles and interceptions than any other player since joining the PL.
The French will come face-to-face with Arsenal on Saturday at 12:30GMT and his countryman, Arsene Wenger has revealed that he tried signing him even when he was at Caen saying; “I tried to sign Kante when he was in France and when he was at Leicester. “We cannot explain everything; transfers are transfers but it is quite obvious when you look at where he has gone. “I believe Kante has had a huge impact. It’s no coincidence Chelsea are where they are and Leicester did what they did last season.”
Arsenal will like to become the first club to beat Chelsea home and away after beating Chelsea 3-0 in the reverse fixture at the Emirates.
