It’s a bank holiday in Madrid today, the sun is cracking the flags and the streets are full of people, so expect the atmosphere to be at fever pitch tonight. Real Madrid’s fans will be congregating around Concha Espina Avenue to welcome the bus, while they have also created a hashtag to encourage the entire stadium to be full 45 minutes before kick off to generate an unforgettable atmosphere. That may not sound a lot, but in Spain it is! Stadiums often don’t get full until the last moments before kick-off over here.
Atlético fans, meanwhile, have arranged to meet at their Vicente Calderón stadium – seven kilometres south of the Bernabéu – and the 4,000 or so of them will make the walk together up towards their neighbours’ ground throughout the afternoon.
Altetico to be in black
Atletico Madrid will change their usual outfits in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Real Madrid and will not play rojiblanco at the Bernabeu.
The set mattress will use the second set, so he will jump to the field dressed in the black shirt and yellow pants, as confirmed this morning the newspaper MARCA with sources of the club.
Ronaldo vs Grizeman
‘Game of thrones’ reads the headline in Marca, which depicts No7s Griezmann and Ronaldo fighting it out for the crown. “The derby that paralyses football with be all about the sevens,” it writes. “Griezmann and Ronaldo have both been on fire since the turn of the year. Cristiano has 18 goals in 27 games against Atlético, while Griezmann has been involved in goals in his last four visits to the Bernabéu.”
