The South African Football Association (SAFA) has promised to announce the new Bafana Bafana head coach within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The association has been in talks with Super Sport United coach Stuart Baxter, a British tactician, since last month as they look to replace Ephraim Mashaba, who was fired last December.
SAFA have since released the following statements on their official website:
“Following a thorough, but lengthy process of seeking a replacement Head Coach for the Men’s Senior National Team, Bafana Bafana, the Association is pleased to announce that it has finalised an agreement with the successful candidate and is in the process of formalising the legal arrangements by exchanging signatures today,” a statement read.
“We are mindful that the South African public has been waiting with bated breath for this matter to be concluded and we can report that we will make a formal and more detailed announcement to this effect in the next 24 to 48 hours,” another statement read.
Bafana, who have been under the guidance of caretaker coach Owen Da Gama, will take on Nigeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on the 10th of June 2017.
