Real Madrid forward, Karim Benzema has come to the rescue of his teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo claiming the Portuguese isn’t selfish as people say.
The Portuguese whose two goals in the final of the Champions League helped Real Madrid to retain the title they won last year has been accused of being selfish and is just interested in individual awards than team play.
Ronaldo who scored his 600th career goal at Cardiff is accused of always eager to score rather than any of his teammates scoring of which Karim Benzema doesn’t believe so.
Benzema reiterated that the 32 year old Portuguese will turn provider when the need arise and that he isn’t selfish.
He is quoted as saying; “I have no words”.
“When I hear his name, I just have a gesture of admiration”.
“He’s an extraordinary person. We understand each other well on the pitch. He wants to have the ball but it’s very difficult to get it when he runs with it”.
“He’s not selfish on the pitch but if he has the ball he always wants to go for goal. And suddenly, he’ll set me up to score.”
The stats has shown that of all the players Cristiano Ronaldo has played with, Karim Benzema is the player to have provided him more assists than any one else.
