Ethiopia Coach Ashenafi Bekele has heaped praise on Ghana Captain Asamoah Gyan describing him as a “great” player in Africa.
Bekele’s comments came after his side’s lost 5-0 to the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Gyan opened the scoring with 10 minutes of play and that marked his milestone of 50 goals in 103 matches for Ghana.
The 31-year-old’s performance on the day was vital to the Black Stars team.
“Gyan is a good player and wonderful player, he was good today and helped Ghana ,” Bekele told the Press.
“I think he is a great footballer not only in Ghana but in Africa.”
Gyan who scored his 50th goal for the Black Stars remains the most capped and all-time top scorer for the National team.
He scored for the national team on his debut game on 16th November, 2003 during a World Cup qualifier against Somalia.
