Ghanaian International Kwadwo Asamoah has given a hint that sooner than later he will return to the senior national team.
Kwadwo made his debut for Ghana in 2008 and has gone on to play 69 games for Ghana.
Speaking at the 2017 CTB Awards held at the residence of the Italian Ambassador to Ghana on Tuesday June 14, 2017, Kwadwo Asamoah averred that the decision to put his national team career on hold was due to recurrent injuries he has been suffering for the past two years but promised to be back very soon.
“I will join the team [Black Stars] very soon, I left the Black Stars due to injuries and I needed time to recuperate and get much better.
“Ghana has talent in abundance and in my absence there were more than enough replacements but am happy with my current form and will be joining the team soon.”
The Juventus midfielder who recently lost the UEFA Champions League title to Real Madrid has not played for Ghana since 2014 due to recurring knee injuries. But he played some key roles in the second part of the season to help the Old Ladies of the Serie A to win a double ; League and Italian Cup
The former Udinese midfielder’s comeback will help Kwasi Appiah in his rebuilding exercise.
According to Asamoah, this is the right time to make a return to the Black Stars.
