Twice 5,000m and 10,000m Olympic gold medalist, Mo Farah has announced that his last track event will be at the British Grand Prix in Birmingham in August.
The 34 year old says he will discontinue running on tracks after the World championship scheduled from 4th to 13th of August, 2017 at London but says he will compete in the Diamond League on 20th August.
Farah who indicated that he will focus on marathons rather than track events said; “I’m sure it will be a day I remember for the rest of my life”.
Farah who won the 3000m at the Anniversary Games in London continued saying; “I’ll be looking for a good final performance to thank the fans for all their support over the years.”
The four time Olympic champion who won 5000m and 10000m at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and also a five-time world champion will be seeking to attempt a third successive 5,000m and 10,000m double at the World Championships next month.
