Former CONCACAF boss and FIFA Executive member, Chuck Blazer has died aged 72.
Blazer was disgraced as he pleaded guilty to bribery, money laundering and tax evasion during his time at FIFA ensuring that he was banned from all football activities for life in 2015.
The 72 year old had been suffering from cancer and has this morning passed away after battling the disease since 2015.
Blazer lawyers said in a statement; “We are truly saddened by the passing of our client and friend, Chuck Blazer”. “His misconduct, for which he accepted full responsibility, should not obscure Chuck’s positive impact on international soccer”, the statement continued.
He was noted for the information he gave that helpedand also led to charges against 14 FIFA officials.
