There was an unpleasant scenes at the incident that saw Kumasi Asante Kotoko bus involved in an accident as some rescuers who came in to ensure that the team are rescued ended up robbing the team of their possessives.
The playing body and the technical staff of the club were robbed as they were in pains due to the gory accident that saw their bus ran into a stationary vehicle at Nkawkaw, Ghana.
Kotoko travelled to the El Wak stadium to take on International Allies in matchweek 22 of the Ghana Premier League and having lost 1-0 to Allies, they had an accident on their way back to Kumasi. The accident saw players and technical staff among other staff on board injured and needed to be rushed to the Holy Family Hospital, Nkawkaw before being transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi for further treatment and assessment.
Some of the rescuers took away the mobile phones, money, football boots, phones and Ipads of the players and staff.
The accident which has seen the assistant equipment of the club, Mr. Thomas Obeng Asare pronounced dead and almost all of the players and staff sustaining all degrees of injuries and is on treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi were also not spared as their valuables were taken away by some people who came in to rescue them.
