Jamaican Usain Bolt won the 2017 Monaco Diamond League 100m in 9.95s to run for the first time this year below 10s.
The eight time Olympic champion won the 100m ahead of American Isiah Young (9.98s) and South Africa’s Akani Simbine (10.02).
The world champion who announced that his last track race will be the 100m and 4x100m relay in London next year had some treatment in Germany before the start of the tournament but was not to be troubled as he won the 100m in 9.95s.
In other race, South African and world champion, Wayde Van Niekerk (43.73) took gold in 400m ahead of Botswana Isaac Makwala (his personal best time of 43.84) while his country-mate Caster Semenya won the Women’s 800m in a season best and meeting record time of 1:55.27. The Olympic champion beat Burundi’s Francine Niyonsaba to win the 800m.
In the Men’s 1500m, Elijah Manangoi won with a year best time of 3:28.80 while Kenyan Emmanuel Korir also took gold in the Men’s 800m with a time of 1:43.10.
