Scotland Hearts of Midlothian have parted ways with manager Ian Cathro after just seven months of appointing him.
Cathro, 31, who was appointed in December, 2016 have been sacked after a shock League Cup exit tocity rivals Hibernian.
The former Valencia and Newcastle manager oversaw a 2-0 away defeat to Rangers in his debut game and went on to win 5 and lost 13 of the 22 Premiership matches played.
The club statement confirming the exit of Ian Cathro read;
“The board wishes it to be known that this was a very difficult decision, reluctantly made, as every member of the board recognises Ian is an extremely talented young coach with a very bright future”.
“We thank Ian for all of his efforts and wish him well in the future”, the statement added.
