The National Sports Authority (NSA) is set to deploy a combined 305 security personnel ahead of the Matchweek 23 outstanding game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The PLB announced that the outstanding game between the two arch rivals will take place on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Baba Yara Stadium after Kotoko were declared fit to play following their tragic incident that befell them on July 12.
The NSA Director, Robert Sarfo Mensah after its stakeholders meeting on Tuesday revealed that this is to ensure safety of the teams, players, staff, fans and officials who will come to the Baba Yara stadium on Sunday.
He added that the approved number of personnel include; 235 Police Personnel, 70 Military Personnel, 15 Personnel from BNI, 40 National Security Personnel, 70 Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, 80 Personnel each from both Red Cross and St. Johns and 2 Ambulances that will have 25 Personnel each.
He also indicated that they will print out 34000 tickets for the Super clash to ensure that the have ‘incident free’ match.
He told the media; “The NSA owns the stadiums; so we are putting in place good structures ahead of the Kotoko and Hearts game to ensure incident free on the day”.
“We know matches between these two teams are tension-packed and we have taken it very serious once both teams want to win. The tension between these two teams are even higher than Black Stars matches”, he added.
“Because of that, the NSA is holding all stakeholders conference on Saturday. It will include the two teams, security personnel, and many more to make sure we have a successful game, the ex Asunafo North Member of Parliament indicated.
