Paris St. Germain new boy and Brazilian Neymar scored on his debut against Guingamp and admitted after the game feeling ‘more alive than ever’.
PSG beat Guingamp 3-0 in matchday 2 of the French Ligue 1 to make it two wins out of two.
Neymar, 25, who joined PSG for a world record fee of 222m euros (£200m) was cleared on Friday to make his debut and he made it a memorable night as he was involved in all three goals.
His cross led to the own goal that put the Paris based side ahead before setting up Uruguayan Edison Cavani to slot in the second. Cavani replicated that gesture as he put Neymar through on goal to score on his debut.
He said after the game; “People think that leaving Barcelonaa is to die, but it’s the opposite”.
He added; “I’m more alive than ever. I play, I am very happy and football is the same. Only the country, the city and the team change, but football is the same”.
The poster boy of Brazil, Neymar continued; “It is always very important to score, not just in the first game”.
“This is a great challenge for me as a person, but we have a great team”, he indicated.
“The main thing was to win. The team played well and I played well”.
“We are trying to improve all the time and we’ll get to know each other even better yet. But it is easy to play with players of such quality”.
